About
The twin-building complex is characterized by a dramatic sloping and curved roof shape, which is integrated in the conditions given by the site. The building comes out of the ridge and turns its back towards the noisy train service, creating a sound barrier. The roof is shielding the interior from the direct southern sun exposure. North facing skylights evenly distributes good, non-glaring daylight conditions to the office space.
Materials
Sustainability has been one of the primary design parameters and as a result the roof has been covered with a mos-sedum and grass planting, which mitigates sound, vibrations and ads to keeping building temperatures in balance. It retains rainwater and the excessive water is collected and used in dry periods. Furthermore the building will have a hybrid ventilation system installed, which utilizes both the skylights and the thermal pressure shafts located in the glass curtain wall system.
